"The Cover of Love" is the debut book for author Courtney Shockey, and it is a mindf***! Don't get me wrong I love this book, but it will leave you trying to wrap your mind around why Jodie did the things she did. It takes you through her childhood and on into adulthood, where things become even more strange as the years pass. This is the first book in the trilogy and I can't wait to read the rest of the series!
Jodie survived through a very rough childhood and teen years, to finally lead a "normal" life. Her wonderful adoring husband, Flynn, and their son Paul are the most important people in her life. The secrets that she hides can and will lead to total destruction of all she holds dear, or will it? Everyone knows "You protect the ones you love", no matter the cost.
"The Cover of Love" is a novella length at around 150 pages, but ends at a good stopping point so it doesn't feel like a cliffhanger. I'm not a fan of cliffhangers so this is great for me, also book two "The Shadow of Hope" is already out so I can dive into that very soon!
