Review: Gateway to Fourline

Gateway to Fourline Gateway to Fourline by Pam Brondos
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

"Gateway to Fourline" by Pam Brondos is about an alternate world called "Fourline" that can be reached through a portal in a costume shop. When Natalie, a college student, needs a job to help pay her tuition after her Dad's accident she goes to work at the costume shop. She doesn't expect to find a hodge podge of people there like she does, and especially royalty from another realm. Estos and his friends barely escaped with their lives after his sister was murdered and have been trying to build a rebellion since it happened. They chose Natalie to send a message back for them and it leads to more adventure and danger than she expected. Is she up for the challenge or is she doomed to fail? With blue spider like creatures and other dangers around, it makes it hard to know who to trust.

I found this to be a good book, a little slow at the start but then moved into some exciting moments in the middle. I liked the scientific/fantasy concepts thrown in and the touch of romance at the end. I felt that the characters needed a touch more of something.... I neither liked them or hated them. Will I read book two? Absolutely, this story can only get better as it goes along.
